Beth is the main character of Parallelax. The comic centres around her two parallel lives in Universes A and B. She is a nerd at heart in both universes, but in Universe A she suppressed that part of herself to lose weight. Beth 'B' does not have this problem, as she takes tablets instead of food, as is the norm for her society.

Beth is generally friendly and caring, but hates customers and criticism. She has a desperate need to prove herself, and is generally quite insecure with herself and others.

Josie is a spirited girl with a zest for life. She is desperate to lose weight and has been achieving it because she doesn't make much money. She can be naive, but is actually more wise than she looks.

Universe: B
Age: 53
Occupation: Scientist

Andy, despite his hair, is very conformist. He likes to follow his textbooks to the letter and condemns anyone who might think outside the box. He is the typical skeptic, heavily relying on proven facts and is therefore formidable in an argument. This could be his downfall, however, as he is not imaginative and relies on only documented facts rather than using his right-brain.

An immature loser with a high sex drive that just doesn't know how to be a decent human being.

He frequently drinks and regularly visits Beth's workplace to order two fried eggs, as they resemble a female chest.
